This is a list of films produced by theIndianHindi-language film industry, popularly known asBollywood, based inMumbai, ordered by year and decade of release. Although "Bollywood" films are generally listed under theHindi language, most are inHindustani and inHindi with partialBhojpuri,Punjabi,Urdu and occasionally other languages.Bollywood films can achieve national distribution across at least 22 of India's 29 states.[1]
Speakers of Bengali, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, and Urdu understand the mixed language usage of Bollywood thus extending the viewership to people all over theIndian subcontinent (throughout India and its neighboring countries).
