Zoos are primarily facilities where animals are kept within enclosures and displayed to the public, and in which they may also be bred. Such facilities includezoos,safari parks,animal theme parks,aviaries,butterfly zoos andreptile centers, as well aswildlife sanctuaries andnature reserves where visitors are allowed. According to theAssociation of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), there are over 10,000 zoos worldwide.[1] Globally there are an estimated 700 million visitors a year to zoos.[2]
