TheWinnipeg Jets are a professionalice hockey team based inWinnipeg. They are members of theCentral Division of theWestern Conference of theNational Hockey League (NHL). The team, owned byTrue North Sports & Entertainment, plays its home games at theCanada Life Centre.
The franchise was founded in 1999, and played eleven seasons inAtlanta,Georgia as theAtlanta Thrashers before moving to Winnipeg in 2011. After relocation the team struggled to make the playoffs as they qualified for the playoffs just once (in 2015) in their first six seasons. In the franchise's time in Winnipeg they have qualified for the playoffs six times and have advanced to oneConference Final in 2018. The2024-25 team saw them win their first ever Central Division championship, and also won thePresident's Trophy for the best overall record in the league.
