Lionel William Wiglesworth (February 13, 1865 – June 7, 1901) was an Australianornithologist who studied birds ofSoutheast Asia andPolynesia.[1] Wiglesworth publishedThe Birds of Celebes and the Neighboring Islands in 1898 withAdolf Bernhard Meyer.[2] Together, they described several new bird species, including thedark-eared myza (Myza celebensis)[3] and theBanggai fruit dove (Ptilinopus subgularis).[4]
