Liga IV Timiș is the countyfootball division ofLiga IV for clubs based inTimiș County,România. History

[edit]

In 1968, following theterritorial reorganization of the country[1] and due to the large number of requests, theRomanian Football Federation proposed a new competitive system. Under this system, each county would have its own football championship, integrating teams from the former regional championships as well as those from district and city championships of the previous edition.[2]

Promotion

[edit]

The champions of each county association play one another in a play-off to promote to theLiga III. Geographical criteria are taken into consideration when the play-offs are drawn. In total there are 41 county champions plus the Bucharest municipal champion.[3]
