Henry Lewis Morrison (February 11, 1948 – July 15, 2023) was a Canadian professionalice hockey player who played 564National Hockey League (NHL) games for thePhiladelphia Flyers,Atlanta Flames,Washington Capitals, andPittsburgh Penguins between 1969 and 1978. Morrison played junior with theFlin Flon Bombers of theWestern Canada Hockey League, and was selected by the Flyers 8th overall in the1968 NHL Amateur Draft. He made his professional debut that year with the Flyers'American Hockey League affiliate, theQuebec Aces, and joined Philadelphia for the1969–70 season. After three seasons with the Flyers Morrison was claimed by the expansionAtlanta Flames in 1972, and played two seasons there before joining another expansion team, theWashington Capitals. He briefly played for Washington before being traded to thePittsburgh Penguins, where he would play the last four years of his career.
Morrison was born inGainsborough, Saskatchewan and raised inHartney, Manitoba. He was elected into theManitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017.[1] He died on July 15, 2023, at the age of 75.[2]
