Leopoldine Marie, Princess of Anhalt-Dessau (12 December 1716, inDessau – 27 January 1782, inKołobrzeg) was Princess ofAnhalt-Dessau by birth andMargravine ofBrandenburg-Schwedt by virtue of marriage.
She was born inOranienbaum palace as the fourth daughter and ninth child of PrinceLeopold I, Prince of Anhalt-Dessau and his initiallymorganatic wife,Anna Louise Föhse.[1]
After the death of her husband in 1788, Margraviate of Brandenburg-Schwedt was incorporated into theKingdom of Prussia. Since then, her former home,Schwedt palace was used by thePrussian royal family as their summer residence.
She married on 13 February 1739Frederick Henry, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt (1709–1788), who became the last Margrave. They had two daughters:
She died inKolberg on 27 January 1782 at the age of 65.
