Lancer (2021 population:58) is aspecial service area in theCanadian province ofSaskatchewan within theRural Municipality of Miry Creek No. 229 andCensus Division No. 8. It held village status between 1913 and 2022.

History

Lancer incorporated as a village on September 11, 1913.[1] It restructured on August 1, 2022, relinquishing its village status in favour of becoming aspecial service area under the jurisdiction of the RM of Miry Creek No. 229.[2]

In the2021 Census of Population conducted byStatistics Canada, Lancer had a population of58 living in28 of its33 total private dwellings, a change of-15.9% from its 2016 population of69. With a land area of 1.32 km2 (0.51 sq mi), it had a population density of43.9/km2 (113.8/sq mi) in 2021.[3]

In the2016 Census of Population, Lancer had a population of69 living in32 of its35 total private dwellings, an11.6% change from its 2011 population of61. With a land area of 1.33 km2 (0.51 sq mi), it had a population density of51.9/km2 (134.4/sq mi) in 2016.[6]
