Lakeport is a city inGregg County,Texas, United States. The population was 974 at the2010 census,[4] up from 861 at the2000 census; in2020, its population was 976.[5]
Lakeport is located in southeastern Gregg County.Texas State Highway 149 (Estes Parkway) forms the northeastern border of the city, and leads north 7 miles (11 km) toLongview and southeast 13 miles (21 km) toTatum.Texas State Highway 322 passes through the west side of Lakeport, starting at Highway 149 and leading south 20 miles (32 km) toHenderson. The city is bordered to the south byEast Texas Regional Airport.
According to theUnited States Census Bureau, Lakeport has a total area of 1.6 square miles (4.1 km2), all land.[4] TheSabine River forms part of the northwestern border of the city.

There were 373 housing units at an average density of 240.5 per square mile (92.9/km2). TheEast Texas Regional Airport is in anunincorporated area,[11] adjacent to Lakeport, at the city's southern boundary.
TheLongview Independent School District is the relevant school district.[12]Longview High School is the comprehensive high school.
