La Torre de l'Espanyol (Catalan pronunciation:[laˈtoreðelaspaˈɲɔl]) is a municipality in thecomarca ofRibera d'Ebre,Tarragona Province,Catalonia, Spain.
Its name originated in the donation of amunicipal charter to a person named Espanyol or Espaniol, a name ofOccitan origin, in 1175.[4]
