She rose to fame in the dramaKimi wa Petto (2003) withJun Matsumoto and gained huge popularity.^[1]Her first international film wasThe Last Samurai (2003) where she played Taka, wife of a Samurai slain by the character Nathan Algren, portrayed byTom Cruise.^[1][3]
