TheKingsway Shopping Centre is an under-covershopping centre inNewport city centre,Wales. The northern pedestrian entrance is onJohn Frost Square adjoining theFriars Walk shopping and leisure complex. The east pedestrian entrance is offCommercial Street. The west pedestrian entrance is on Emlyn Street. The centre is a short walk from the high street shops of Commercial Street andHigh Street.Newport railway station is also a short walk away.
The Kingsway car park on Emlyn Street has over 1000 spaces and the adjacent Friars Walk car park holds 350 cars, both accessed from the A4042 Kingsway.
Kingsway Centre includes a range ofhigh street chain and independent privately owned shops. It is adjoiningNewport Museum, Art Gallery and Central Library and it is close toNewport bus station.[1] Kingsway Centre underwent a refurbishment and extension during 2007 and 2008.[2]
In October 2014 the centre was bought by Bywater Properties and Queensberry Real Estate, the developers of Friars Walk.[3]
In December 2023 Niall Leighton-Boyce of Boyce Group purchased the centre after previous owners went into administration in May 2023.

The shopping centre also hosts monthly craft markets, welcoming traders from across South Wales and the South West to showcase and sell their goods.
In addition, the centre regularly features live music sessions in collaboration with Newport City Radio, bringing local talent and entertainment to shoppers and visitors.
Since 2025, it has also become the new home of the Newport Comic Fair—the longest-running event of its kind in the area. With a history spanning over 25 years in Newport, the fair is now organised by Sin City Comics and Gaming, who have been running the event since 2018.
