Kennford is a village situated in theTeignbridge district ofDevon, England.[1] Kennford is four miles (6 km) to the south ofExeter in thecivil parish ofKenn;[2] it is situated in one of the country's maintourist areas. At the 2021 census, the village had a population of 537.[3]
The village became prominent in the 1970s as the location of a newservice station on theA38Devon Expressway between Exeter andPlymouth, near the southern terminus of the then newM5 motorway. This service area is a popular stopping place for tourists on their way toSouth Devon andCornwall.
Close to the village is acaravan andcamping park.
The entertainer,Danny la Rue, was largely brought up in Kennford (from the age of 6).
