Kate Higgins is an American voice actress, singer and jazz pianist. She is best known for her voice-acting roles ofSakura Haruno inNaruto,Miles "Tails" Prower in the video game seriesSonic the Hedgehog,Frankie Stein inMonster High,Pauline inSuper Mario,Barbie inBarbie: Life in the Dreamhouse, and asPurah inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom andHyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Early life

Higgins attendedAuburn University where she studied music with jazz artist Bob Richardson.[1] She would often play classical piano in her mother's Opelika restaurant, The Greenhouse.[1] Higgins was a member of the band the Auburn Knights and has played shows at various bars and lounges.[1] She graduated in 1991 with a degree in music and moved toLos Angeles to pursue her music career.[2][1]

Career

Voice acting career

Higgins first worked oncommercials with singing after graduating, then landed a small voice-acting job as a singing cartoon squirrel.[1] She was then approached to be a voice-over actress to dobumpers for theDisney Channel in 1998.[3][1] Since then Higgins's major voice roles have been in English-language adaptations of Japanese anime, and she is best known as the voice ofSakura Haruno inNaruto and Talho Yuuki inEureka 7.[1] She has also voicedCC inCode Geass andSaber in the originalFate/stay night.[1] Between 2010 and 2013, Higgins voicedTails in the video game seriesSonic the Hedgehog.[4][1] In 2014, Higgins was cast asAmi Mizuno / Sailor Mercury in the Viz English dub ofSailor Moon.[1] She is the current voice ofPrincess Aurora since 2010, aDisney Princess character originally seen inWalt Disney’sSleeping Beauty.[1] She also played the voice ofFrankie Stein inMonster High and Briar Beauty inEver After High.[1] She also starred asBarbie inBarbie: Life in the Dreamhouse in 2012. Since the release ofSuper Mario Odyssey in 2017, she has been the voice ofPauline in theMario franchise.[1]

Music career

Higgins is a trainedjazz pianist. In 2002, she released her first jazz album,The Tide is Low. Her second jazz album isStealing Freedom. She is also in a band called Upper Structure.[5]
