TheKassonke (Khassonké) language,Xaasongaxango (Xasonga), orWestern Maninka (Malinke), is aManding language spoken by theKhassonké andMalinke of westernMali and by theMalinke of easternSenegal. Kassonke is anofficial language in Mali. Western andEastern Maninka are 90%mutually intelligible, though distinct from theMandinka (Malinke) of southern Senegal, which is a national language there.
