Karim Al Abed Darwich (Arabic:كريم العبد درويش; born 2 November 1998) is afootballer who plays as astriker forIraq Stars League clubDuhok. Born in Germany, he plays for theLebanon national team.
Coming through the youth system, Darwich made his senior debut withViktoria Berlin on 13 March 2017,[2] as a 73rd-minute substitute in a 2–0Regionalliga Nordost win againstCarl Zeiss Jena in the2016–17 season.[3]
Darwich played forSV Altlüdersdorf in theOberliga Nord during the 2017–18 season,[4] making nine appearances and scoring twice.[5]
On 3 January 2018, Darwich moved toLebanese Premier League sideNejmeh;[6] he scored two goals in five matches in the2017–18 Lebanese Premier League.[7]
Darwich joinedAkhaa Ahli Aley on loan in summer 2018,[8] with whom he played 18 league games and scored three times in the2018–19 season.[2] He was purchased by Akhaa for the2019–20 season, scoring a goal in two games in the cancelled league season.[2]
Darwich had a short loan experience atAhed in February 2020, playing in the2020 AFC Cup.[9]
Darwich joinedAnsar from Akhaa on 3 July 2020,[9] in a deal worth $50,000.[10] In the2020–21 season, he helped Ansar win their first league title since 2007, and their 14th overall.[11] Darwich also helped Ansar win thedouble, beating Nejmeh in the2020–21 Lebanese FA Cup final onpenalty shoot-outs.[12]
On 17 March 2023, Ahed announced the signing of Darwich on a five-year contract.[13] He played 33 games, scoring 13 goals and making 5 assists.[14]
In October 2024, Darwich joinedDuhok in theIraqi Stars League.[14] He helped the club lift the2024–25 AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League, after defeating Kuwaiti clubQadsia in the final on 15 April 2025.[15]
Born in Germany, Darwich is ofLebanese descent.[16] He played for theLebanon U23s at the2020 AFC U-23 Championship qualification.[9] Darwich made his debut for thesenior team in afriendly againstBahrain on 12 November 2020.[17] He scored his first goal on 9 June 2023, apenalty againstVanuatu in theIntercontinental Cup.[18]
