Kaitlyn Dawn Bristowe (born June 19, 1985)[1] is a Canadian television personality best known for being a contestant on thenineteenth season ofABC'sThe Bachelor, and as the lead on theeleventh season ofThe Bachelorette.[2] She won theseason 29 ofDancing with the Stars, with partnerArtem Chigvintsev.[3]

Early life

The daughter of a ballerina,[4] Bristowe grew up inLeduc, Alberta,[5] and moved as an adult toVancouver, British Columbia, a dance scholarship[2] where she became a spin-class instructor.[4]

Bristowe was a contestant onChris Soules' season ofThe Bachelor. She placed third overall, losing to runner-up Becca Tilley and winner Whitney Bischoff.[6]

The Bachelorette

OnThe Bachelor "After the Final Rose" segment, hostChris Harrison announced that season eleven would begin with two Bachelorettes, Bristowe and fellow season nineteen contestant Britt Nilsson.[7] Bristowe became the official bachelorette of season eleven.[8] The season ultimately ended in her engagement to contestant Shawn Booth.[9]

Bristowe co-hostedseason 17 andseason 18 ofThe Bachelorette alongside fellowformer BacheloretteTayshia Adams.[10]

Dancing with the Stars

During the airing ofThe Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever! in June 2020, hostChris Harrison offered Bristowe a spot on theupcoming season ofDancing with the Stars, which she accepted.[11] Previously Bristowe alleged thatThe Bachelor creatorMike Fleiss had blocked Bristowe from participating on the show when she was offered a spotin 2015 after her season ofThe Bachelorette had finished airing.[12]

On September 2, 2020, Bristowe was announced as one of the celebrities competing on the29th season ofDancing with the Stars.[13] She was partnered with professional dancerArtem Chigvintsev, and on November 23, 2020, they were declared the winners of the season.[3]

On November 8, 2021, Bristowe was announced as one of the stars joining theDancing with the Stars Live! - 2022 Tour.[14] She is joining other professionals on the show, including her season 29 partner, Artem. She is set to perform at 55 out of the 66 dates.[15]

Other ventures

In her early 20s, Bristowe earned a spot as a cheerleader for theBC Lions in theCanadian Football League.[16]

Her podcast,Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe, began on May 29, 2017. In 2019, she started herwine labelSpade and Sparrows.[17] On May 14, 2020, Bristowe released her debut single "If I'm Being Honest".[18]

Personal life

On November 2, 2018, Bristowe and Booth made a joint statement announcing they had broken up.[19]

Bristowe started dating Jason Tartick, a former contestant fromBecca Kufrin'sseason ofThe Bachelorette, in January 2019.[20] Bristowe and Tartick shared a home in Nashville, Tennessee, with two golden retrievers.[21] In September 2019, the couple starred in country singerBrett Kissel's music video for his number one hit "Drink About Me".[22] In November 2020, the couple's dogs starred in the music video for Kissel's "A Few Good Stories" withWalk off the Earth.[23] In May 2021, Bristowe and Tartick announced their engagement.[24] On August 6, 2023, Bristowe and Tartick released a joint statement that they decided to end their engagement.[25]

Bristowe revealed on theOut & About podcast that she is bisexual.[26]
