Juan José Perea Mendoza (born 23 February 2000) is a Colombian professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forSwiss Super League clubFC Zürich on loan fromVfB Stuttgart.[1]
Perea played forPorto, helping the club to win the2018–19 UEFA Youth League. He made three appearances in the competition for the Portuguese club.
Perea joinedPanathinaikos in the summer of 2019, signing a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee. He made his first appearance for Panathinaikos in theGreek Superleague against the team's 3–1 loss toOFI on 31 August 2019.[2] On 10 November 2019, he scored his first goal in the 3–2 win for Panathinaikos in theAthenian Derby againstAEK Athens.[3]
On 1 September 2020, he joined the Greek clubVolos.[4]
On 19 July 2021, Perea signed a three-year contract withPAS Giannina.[5]
In early January 2022, he was linked with domestic and foreign clubs, includingAEK Athens.[6] PAS Giannina reportedly demanded a €1 million transfer fee with Perea's former club Panathinaikos retaining the right to claim the player by matching any offer.[7]
On 8 July 2022,VfB Stuttgart announced the signing of Perea on a four-year deal.[8] The transfer fee was reported as over €2.2 million, becoming the most expensive player sold byPAS Giannina.[9][10]
On 4 August 2023, Perea moved to2. Bundesliga clubHansa Rostock on a season-long loan.[11]
On 24 June 2024, he was loaned toSwiss Super League sideFC Zürich, with an option to buy.[12]
