Joshua Yaro (born 18 November 1994) is a Ghanaianfootballer who plays forSt. Louis City SC inMajor League Soccer.

Youth and college soccer

Joshua moved to theUnited States on a scholarship to attendCate School inCarpinteria, California where he played soccer. Yaro played three years ofcollege soccer atGeorgetown University between 2013 and 2015.[1]

While at college, Yaro also appeared forPremier Development League sideBaltimore Bohemians in 2014.[2]

Professional career

On 11 January 2016, Yaro was selected 2nd overall in the2016 MLS SuperDraft byPhiladelphia Union.[3] He made his professional debut with the Union'sUSL Championship affiliate club,Bethlehem Steel, on 25 March, starting in a 1–0 win overFC Montréal.[4]

Following his release by Philadelphia, Yaro joinedSan Antonio FC on 11 January 2019.[5] After two seasons in San Antonio, he joinedSan Diego Loyal SC ahead of the 2021 campaign.[6]

Personal

Yaro earned hisU.S. green card in July 2017.[7] This status also qualifies him as a domestic player for MLS roster purposes.
