José Luis Rodríguez Loreto (born 10 February 1971) is a Spanish retiredfootballer who played as astriker, currently themanager ofCD Cuarte.
Over six seasons, he amassedSegunda División figures of 176 games and 49 goals in representation ofBetis,Logroñés andMurcia. InLa Liga, he totalled 35 appearances for Betis andZaragoza.
Loreto was born inSeville,Andalusia. After making his professional debut withReal Betis, scoring two goals in 23 games for an eventualLa Liga relegation in the1990–91 season, he excelled at neighboursCórdoba CF in theSegunda División B,[1] which prompted a return to the top flight as he signed forReal Zaragoza.[2]
However, Loreto was grossly unsettled at theAragonese,[3][4] and played one season in theSegunda División, being crucial forCD Logroñés'[5]promotion whilst on loan.[6] At the end of the campaign, he was released and spent a further four years in the third tier with Córdoba[7] andCádiz CF.[8]
Loreto's career revived the following years, withReal Murcia,[9] being relatively important as the teamreturned to the top division in 2003 by netting four times in 26 matches.[10] He was subsequently released, and ended his career in 2006 at the age of 35 following spells in the lower leagues.[11]
