Johnnie Keyes (February 21, 1940 – June 3, 2018) was an Americanpornographic film actor[2][3] best known for appearing in the 1972 filmBehind the Green Door. He has been inducted into theAVN, Urban X, andXRCO Halls of Fame.
Keyes was born inCleveland, Ohio.[3] He studied at both the School for Theatrical Arts in New York and theJuilliard School.[4]
Keyes had a lead role inBehind the Green Door (1972). He also performed in films in theSwedish Erotica series during the 1980s. In addition to his work in adult film, Keyes starred in musicals and the theater, was a boxer, a singer, and asex surrogate.[5] He was a part of the documentary,After Porn Ends 2.[6]
At the inauguralUrban X Awards, Keyes was inducted into their Hall of Fame.[7] In 2013, Keyes made a cameo inThe New Behind the Green Door, a loose remake ofBehind the Green Door that featured archival footage from the original film.[8]
Keyes is a member of theAVN andXRCO Halls of Fame.[9][10]
On June 3, 2018, Keyes died inSeattle following complications from a recentstroke.[3]
