Jihlava Zoo (Czech:Zoologická zahrada Jihlava) is azoo inJihlava in theCzech Republic.
Jihlava Zoo is located in a valley of the Jihlávka Stream, and is home to about 260 species of exotic animals, including endangered species. The zoo specializes in breeding of bigcarnivores,monkeys andreptiles.
The predecessor of the Jihlava Zoo was Zookoutek Jihlava, established in 1957. In 1982, it transformed into a zoo.[2]
In 1994, the zoo was accepted as a member of theEuropean Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).
