Jeffrey Bernard Foote (born July 14, 1987) is an American former professionalbasketball player.
Foote began his college basketball career atSt. Bonaventure University. Heredshirted his freshman season before he transferred toCornell University for his last three seasons.[1]
In June 2010, Foote signed a three-year contract withEuroleague giantsMaccabi Tel Aviv.[2] In November 2010 he was sent on a one-year loan to Spanish second division teamMelilla Baloncesto.[3] In August 2011 he signed a one-year contract withZastal Zielona Góra.[4] Foote left Zastal before the season started and in December 2011 signed with theSpringfield Armor of theNBA Development League.[5] After the resolution of the2011 NBA lockout, Foote was invited to thePortland Trail Blazers training camp in December 2011,[6] but did not make the team[7] and returned to the Armor.
On March 8, 2012, Foote was called up to the NBA by theNew Orleans Hornets.[8] In his first game for the Hornets on March 9 Foote scored four points and had four rebounds. He would appear in three more games that season but would not score another point.[9]
On September 7, 2012, Foote signed with theLithuanian clubŽalgiris Kaunas.[10]
On November 1, 2013, he was re-acquired by theSpringfield Armor.[11]
Foote graduated from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences atCornell University. He is the son of Don and Wanda Foote. Don played basketball atNiagara University from 1976 to 1979. Foote's older brother, Jesse, played basketball forRochester Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2005 and holds RIT's record for career blocked shots.[12]
As of 2014, Foote was enrolled in law school at the University of Miami and worked as a graduate assistant for the basketball team under Head Coach Jim Larranaga.[13]
