Jean Mathonet (6 October 1925,[2][3]Bévercé,Malmedy – 22 October 2004,Malmedy[4]) was aBelgianfootball player who finishedtop scorer of theBelgian First Division with 26 goals in 1956 while playing forStandard Liège. He played 13 times with theBelgium national team between 1952 and 1958. Mathonet made his international debut onChristmas 1952 in a 0–1 friendly win againstFrance.
