TheJavan scimitar babbler (Pomatorhinus montanus) is a species ofbird in the familyTimaliidae. It isendemic toJava,Indonesia. TheSunda scimitar babbler (P. bornensis), which is found inSumatra,Borneo, andMalaysia, was formerly considered conspecific, with both species being grouped as thechestnut-backed scimitar babbler.[2] Its naturalhabitats aresubtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moistmontane forest.
It feeds on invertebrates.[3]
