Jara, also known asJera, is a Nigerian language reported to be spoken by 46,000 people in 2000.[1] It is spoken inBorno andGombe States, in theBiu,Kwaya-Kusar,Akko, andYamaltu-Deba LGAs. It is anAfro-Asiatic language, in theBiu–Mandara branch ofChadic family. Use of Jara is declining; it is being displaced byFulfulde andHausa.[1]
