TheJapan Indie Awards (Japanese:日本インディー大賞,Hepburn:Nihon Indī Taishō) are Japaneseprofessional wrestling, orpuroresu, awards that have been handed out annually since 2007 by the programIndie no Oshigoto, broadcast on theFighting TV Samurai TV channel. Unlike the more widely publicized and recognizedTokyo Sports Puroresu Awards that are awarded to all Japanesepromotions,[1] the Japan Indie Awards focus on theindependent circuit and the smaller promotions.
The awards are voted by fans who can vote online on the Samurai TV website. The winners are announced before the start of theNew Year's Pro-Wrestling event inKorakuen Hall.[2][3]
There are currently five active awards given out by Samurai TV.
