Jane Thynne (born 5 April 1961) is a Britishnovelist,journalist and broadcaster.
Jane Thynne was born inVenezuela on 5 April 1961. She attendedLady Eleanor Holles School inLondon.[1] She readEnglish atSt Anne's College, Oxford, gaining aBA degree. She was married to fellow novelistPhilip Kerr until his death in 2018, and they had three children together.[citation needed]
Thynne has worked as a journalist for theBBC,The Sunday Times,The Daily Telegraph, andThe Independent, for which she was the radio critic from October 2008 to November 2011.[2]
She has been a panelist on theBBC Radio 4 literary panel gameThe Write Stuff on many occasions.[citation needed]
Thynne was a member of the judging panel for theOldie of the Year award in 2010, won byJoanna Lumley,[3] and in 2011, won byBarry Humphries.[4] She was also a judge for the Best Online Only Audio Drama award of the firstBBC Audio Drama Awards in 2012, won byTim Fountain forRock.[citation needed]
Her first novel,Patrimony, was published in 1997. This was followed byThe Shell House (1999),The Weighing of the Heart (2010) andBlack Roses[5] (2013).
