Jacob Christian Maddox (born 3 November 1998) is an English professionalfootballer who plays as amidfielder forNational League clubYeovil Town.

Club career

Maddox was born inBristol and began his career withBristol City, moving toChelsea at the end of his under-14 year.[3] He moved on loan toCheltenham Town in July 2018.[4] He made his professional debut on the first day of the2018–19 season, starting the game againstCrawley Town.[5]

On 8 August 2019, Maddox joinedTranmere Rovers on a season loan deal.[6][7] After two EFL Trophy appearances the loan was ended on 12 December 2019.[8]

Maddox joined fellowPremier League sideSouthampton on loan on 2 February 2020.[9] The contact included an option to buy at the end of the season. Maddox joinedSouthampton's Under-23 squad.[10]

On 12 August 2020, Maddox signed a four-year deal at Portuguese clubVitória de Guimarães, ending his seven year stay at Chelsea.[11] He returned to England in July 2021, signing on loan forBurton Albion.[12][13]

In September 2022 he signed forWalsall.[14][15] He was released by Walsall at the end of the 2022–23 season.[16]

On 7 August 2023, Maddox signed forForest Green Rovers on a free transfer.[17]

On 7 January 2025, Maddox had his contract with Forest Green Rovers terminated by mutual consent, allowing him to join fellowNational League sideYeovil Town on an eighteen-month contract.[18]

International career

He has been a youth international for England, up tounder-20 level.[3] In June 2017, he was selected to represent England at the2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.[19]
