Anatomical terminology |
Theinternal urethral orifice is the opening of theurinary bladder into theurethra.[1]
It is usually somewhat crescent-shaped.[citation needed]
It is formed by theneck of the urinary bladder. It opens at the apex/inferior angle of thetrigone of the bladder, some 2-3 cm anteromedial to eitherureteral orifice.[1]
Themucous membrane immediately posterior to it presents a slight elevation in males - theuvula vesicae - caused by the middle lobe of theprostate.[citation needed]
