Intellect Books is an independentacademic book publisher based inBristol, UK. The press was founded in 1984 by Masoud Yazdani, a former professor of digital media at theUniversity of the West of England. The press specializes in books about film, media, and popular culture; it also publishes over 100 academic journals.[3][4][5]

The press is a member of theAssociation of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) and theIndependent Publishers Guild (IPG).[6] The publisher is also aResearch4Life partner.[4]
