Ancient town in modern day Turkey

Heraclea orHerakleia (Ἡράκλεια), also transliterated asHeracleia, was a town ofancient Lydia at the foot ofMount Sipylus. From this townmagnets were known asHeracleus lapis.[1][2]

Its site is tentatively located nearEmiralem,Asiatic Turkey.[3][4]
