1st LieutenantHenry "Hank" Hughes IV is an American film director and formerParatrooper for173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team. He is best known for directing and co-writing the short-filmDay One as a part of his graduate project atAmerican Film Institute.[1]

Day One received critical appraisal and earned him aBest Narrative (short) Gold Medal at42nd Annual Student Film Awards,[2]BAFTA US Student Award at2016 BAFTA/LA Student Film Awards,[3] andAcademy Award for Best Live Action Short Film nomination at88th Academy Awards.[4][5] He is a graduate ofBoston University.
