Hannah Sanghee Park is an American poet. She is the author of the poetry collection,The Same-Different, winner of the 2014Walt Whitman award of the Academy of American Poets.
Hannah Sanghee Park was born inTacoma, Washington to Korean parents. She spent her early years inFederal Way, Washington.[1] Park earned a BA from theUniversity of Washington and an MFA from theIowa Writers' Workshop.[2]
After receiving her MFA, Park was awarded aFulbright Fellowship creative writing grant to study and write inSeoul, Korea.[1] Park's work in Korea resulted in a 2013 Ruth Lilly Fellowship from thePoetry Foundation.[1]
Park earned a MFA in Writing for Screen and Television from theUniversity of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts.[1]
Park is the author of achapbook,Ode Days Ode (The Catenary Press, 2011).[2]
Park's first poetry collection,The Same-Different was selected byRae Armantrout as winner of the 2014Walt Whitman award of the Academy of American Poets. The book was published by theLouisiana State University Press in 2015.[3]
Park lives and works in Los Angeles.[4]
