Hamdullah Nomani is the mayor ofKabul since August 24, 2021,[2] replacingMohammad Daud Sultanzoy.[3] He also served in the same position during the earlierIslamic Emirate of Afghanistan.[4]
Hamdullah Nomani was born around 1968 in Sipayaw village,Andar District,Ghazni Province.[3]
Nomani served asMinister of Higher Education and member of theLeadership Council.[5]
In September 2021, Nomaniordered womencivil servants to stay home.[6][7]
