Hama District (Arabic:منطقة حماةḤamā) is adistrict (mantiqah) administratively belonging toHama Governorate,Syria. At the time of the 2023 Census, it had a population of 1,054,000 Itsadministrative centre is the city ofHama. It is now controlled by theSyrian transitional government
The district of Hama is divided into four sub-districts ornahiyahs (population according to 2004 official census):
