Haiku (Hawaiian:Haʻikū) is anunincorporated community inMaui County on theisland ofMaui in thestate ofHawaii. ForUnited States Census purposes, it is part of theHaiku-Pauwela census-designated place, which also includesPauwela.^[2]

It was named for theancient Hawaiian land section ofHaʻikū, which isHawaiian for "talk abruptly" or "sharp break".^[3]
