Hafnium phosphide (HfP) is a binaryinorganic compound ofhafnium metal andphosphorus.
It can be obtained by heating together hafnium powder andred phosphorus in sealed quartz tube under vacuum at high temperatures.[4]
The compound is asemiconductor used in high power, high frequency applications and in laser diodes.[5]
Silica-supported hafinum phosphide (HfP/SiO2) was used as asolid acid catalyst to drivefurfural production fromxylan.[6][7]
