Japanese professional wrestler
Isao Ihashi (石橋 勇,Ihashi Isao, born November 28, 1983), better known by hisring nameGota Ihashi (伊橋剛太,Ihashi Gōta), is a Japaneseprofessional wrestler working for the Japaneseprofessional wrestling promotionDDT Pro-Wrestling (DDT).[3]
Professional wrestling career

[edit]Ihashi had been sporadically wrestling inDramatic Dream Team as a comedy “fat clone” ofKota Ibushi for quite a long time before being officially introduced in the roster in June 2009.[4] His firstprofessional wrestling match took place atDDT Kota Ibushi Produce - Beer Garden Fight 8/8 on August 8, 2006, where he teamed up withPoco Takanashi and Tanomusaku Toba and lost toKota Ibushi,Kudo and Chōun Shiryu in asix-man tag team match.[5] He participated in one of the longest matches inprofessional wrestling history, a108-man battle royal atTenka Sanbun no Kei: New Year's Eve Special, a cross-over event held betweenBig Japan Pro Wrestling,DDT andKaientai Dojo from December 31, 2009, competing against other infamous wrestlers such asGreat Kojika,Taka Michinoku,Kenny Omega,Abdullah Kobayashi,[6] and the winner of the match,Jun Kasai.[7]
DDT Pro-Wrestling (2009–present)
[edit]During his tenure withDDT, Ihashi won various titles such as theKing of Dark Championship, a title which was awarded to the loser of the match, which he first won atSaitama Super DDT 2015 on February 15, where he lost atag teamdark match with DJ Nira against Hiroshi Fukuda andHoshitango, with Fukuda pinning Ihashi, therefore "branding" him to be the inaugural champion.[8] AtRoad to Ryōgoku in Hiroshima on May 26, 2013, he teamed up withKenny Omega andKota Ibushi as Golden☆Rendezvous~ to defeat Monster Army (Antonio Honda,Daisuke Sasaki andYuji Hino) for theKO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship.[9] On May 22, 2016, atDDT Dramatic Dreams! Vol. 3 ~Hana Mo Hana Nare Hito Mo Hito Nare~, Ihashi teamed up with a returningKota Ibushi to win aluxury prize tag team rumble match also involving teams such as Kat-Too (Makoto Oishi andShunma Katsumata),Atsushi Maruyama andJoey Ryan orEmi Sakura andMasa Takanashi.[10] Ihashi is a former multiple-timeIronman Heavymetalweight Champion, title which he last won two times, atDDT Saitama Slam! Vol. 16 on November 26, 2016, by defeatingKazuki Hirata and Nobuhiro Shimatani.[11] Ihasi participated in aTen-person tag team match which took place atJudgement 2018: DDT 21st Anniversary on March 25, where he teamed up with Cherry, Tomomitsu Matsunaga,Hoshitango andMad Paulie to defeat Mizuki Watase, Rekka, Gran MilliMeters (Daiki Shimomura and Nobuhiro Shimatani) and Takato Nakano.[12] He worked with many other personalities in DDT. AtWho’s Gonna Top? on September 29, 2019, he teamed up withDanshoku Dino andHoshitango to face Disaster Box (Kazuki Hirata andToru Owashi), andYukio Sakaguchi, match which ended in a no-contest.[13] AtDDT TV Show! #2 on May 9, 2020, Ihashi battledKonosuke Takeshita in a losing effort.[14]
