Gobra railway station is aKolkata Suburban Railway station on theHowrah–Bardhaman chord line operated byEastern Railway zone ofIndian Railways. It is situated at Gobra,Dankuni inHooghly district in the Indian state ofWest Bengal.[1][2]

History

The Howrah–Bardhaman chord, the 95 kilometers railway line was constructed in 1917. It was connected withSealdah throughDankuni after the construction ofVivekananda Setu in 1932.[3]Howrah toBardhaman chord line including Gobra railway station was electrified in 1964–66.[4]
