Glanford Brigg was arural district inLincolnshire,Parts of Lindsey from 1894 to 1974.
It was formed under theLocal Government Act 1894 from theGlanford Briggrural sanitary district. It entirely surrounded the borough ofScunthorpe.
It was enlarged slightly as severalurban districts were abolished and incorporated into it. It absorbedBroughton in 1923 and thenRoxby cum Risby andWinterton in 1936 (under aCounty Review Order.)
In 1974 the district was abolished, being combined withBrigg Urban District andBarton upon Humber Urban District to form a newGlanford district.
