Giovanni Giacomo Semenza (18 July 1580 – 1638) was an Italian painter of the earlyBaroque period. Born inBologna and also known asGiacomo Sementi. He was a pupil of the painterDenis Calvaert, then ofGuido Reni. Among his pupils wereGiacinto Brandi. He painted aChrist the Redeemer for the church of St. Catherine in Bologna.
