Gilstrap is anunincorporated community located in northernButler County in south-centralKentucky, United States.[1]
It is one of the few remainingrural development areas in Kentucky.[2]
Gilstrap is located about 7 miles (11 km) north-northwest ofMorgantown. It is at the junction ofRoutes 1118 and2269. KY 1118 connects southwest to theUS 231 corridor north ofAberdeen, and north toKY 505 atBaizetown, in southeasternOhio County.[3]
Students in Gilstrap attend institutions of theButler County School District, includingButler County High School, with North Butler Elementary being the primary K-5 school for the area.
