Gilbert Raymond English (July 2, 1909 – August 31, 1996) was an American professionalbaseballthird baseman. He played inMajor League Baseball (MLB) for theNew York Giants,Detroit Tigers,Boston Bees, andBrooklyn Dodgers between 1931 and 1944.[1]

In 240 games over six seasons, English posted a .245batting average (194-for-791) with 75runs, 8home runs, 90RBIs and 56bases on balls. He finished his career with a .948fielding percentage.
