Claes Fredrik Richardson Wersäll (born 30 April 1951) is aSwedishjurist andcivil servant who has been theMarshal of the Realm of Sweden and chief of theRoyal Court of Sweden since 1 September 2018.[1]
Wersäll was educated atUppsala University, graduating in 1976 with acandidate of law. He wasProsecutor-General of Sweden from 2004 to 2008 and President of theSvea Court of Appeal from 2008 to 2018. He was appointedMarshal of the Realm of Sweden by KingCarl XVI Gustaf on 15 January 2018 and took office on 1 September 2018.
Wersäll served as the Special Investigator of theKristersson cabinet into the proposal to allow anonymous witnesses in Swedish courts. He presented his findings in June 2024.[2][3]
