Fred Jerkins III, also known asUncle Freddie,[1] is an American songwriter and record producer.
Jerkins is best known for his work with his brotherRodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. Jerkins has co-written several hit songs with Rodney Jerkins andLaShawn Daniels, among them "The Boy Is Mine" byBrandy andMonica, "Say My Name"[2] and "Lose My Breath" byDestiny's Child, "It's Not Right but It's Okay" byWhitney Houston, "He Wasn't Man Enough" byToni Braxton, and multiple tracks fromMichael Jackson's albumInvincible. He has also produced a number of songs under the Darkchild imprint for artists such asBrandy,Shola Ama,Men of Vizion,Keith Washington, andJoJo.
On his own, Jerkins is a noted producer ofgospel music. He and his family are residents ofAtlanta, Georgia.[3]
