Food Unwrapped is a 2014 book about the food industry by the British writer Daniel Tapper. It is based on a BBCChannel 4 television series of the same name,[1][2] and coversfood science andfood technology in mass-produced foods[3] with the objective of "dispel[ing] food myths and reveal[ing] some truths about the food we buy".[4] Subjects covered in the book include the relative merits ofsea salt versus table salt;[5] and the harm or lack of harm in artificial food colorings and flavorings.[2][3]

The book's author has also been a contributor toThe Guardian[6] andWaitrose Kitchen.[7] In 2013, using knowledge he acquired as a self-taughthomebrewer, Tapper opened a brewery producingAmerican pale ale style beer (using AmericanCascade hops).[1][8]
