The cabinet was acoalitionmajority government consisting theCentre Party, theLiberal People's Party and theModerate Party. The cabinet was led byPrime MinisterThorbjörn Fälldin of the Centre Party who had led his party to victory in the1976 general election.
The cabinet resigned on 18 October 1978 following discord in the area involvingnuclear power. The cabinet was succeeded byOla Ullsten's First Cabinet.
