Eva Melander is aSwedish actress. She has appeared on stage as well as in feature films and TV series. She is known for playing a lead role as Tina in the 2018 dark fantasy dramaBorder.
Eva Melander studied at the Theatre Academy inMalmö from 1998 to 2002.[1]
On stage, Melander performed in Lars Norén’sWar atRiksteatern, Malin Axelsson’sMonster Cabinet at Unga Klara and Laura Ruohonen'sThe Great Monkey atStockholm City Theatre. She has also participated inTimmaren with Rita at Dalateatern, and several other productions. In autumn 2010 she played in the acclaimed performanceReports #1- Animals that die at Riksteatern, written and directed by Marcus Lindeen.[1]
On television, Melander has acted in theSVT drama seriesGraven[1] (The Grave; 2004)[2] andLasermannen, both directed byMikael Marcimain, andMästerverket, directed by Linus Tunström.[1]
She had one of the main roles in the 2010 feature filmSebbe, which won theGuldbagge Award forBest Film. She also featured in the film adaptation ofThe Hypnotist, directed byLasse Hallström.[1]
Melander gained significant attention for the starring role of Tina in the 2018 dark fantasy dramaBorder, which was selected as the Swedish entry for theAcademy Awards competition forBest Foreign Film.[3]
Melander plays the lead role as officer Hannah Webster in the 2024 Swedish Nordic noir TV seriesCry Wolf (Vargasommar),[4] co-written byOskar Soderlund andHans Rosenfeldt.[5]
