Eric Puchner is an Americannovelist andshort story writer.
His short stories have appeared inTin House,Chicago Tribune,The Sun,The Missouri Review,[1] andBest New American Voices. He was a fellow atBread Loaf Writers' Conference. His story, "Beautiful Monsters", was selected byTom Perrotta for the 2012 edition ofThe Best American Short Stories.
He attendedChadwick School high school. He taught atSan Francisco State University,Stanford University, andClaremont McKenna College.[2]
In February, 2025, Puchner's novelDream State becameOprah Winfrey's 111th Book Club selection.[3]
He currently teaches atJohns Hopkins University.[4][5][6] He lives inBaltimore with his wife, novelist Katharine Noel, and their two children.[7][8]
